Mr Chen's Prawn and Chive Wontons

Just when you thought prawn and chive wontons couldn’t get any better, along comes this wholesome, hearty soup to take them to a whole new level! Packed full of fresh seafood and veggies, it’s the perfect winter dinner that the family will love!

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1 litre chicken stock

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 250g peeled prawns

  • 1 pack Mr Chen’s prawn and chive wontons

  • 1 carrot, peeled, cut into matchsticks

  • 100g snow peas, finely shredded

  • 1 cup chinese cabbage, shredded

  • 2 tablespoon chives, finely chopped

  • 4 spring onions, sliced

 

METHOD:

Step 1: Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook until aromatic. Add the stock, water and soy sauce and boil.

Step 2: Add the prawns and wontons and cook for 3-4 minutes or until prawns curl and change colour. Add the carrot, snow peas, wombok and half the green onions and cook for for 2-3 minutes or until cabbage just wilts.

Step 3 :Ladle soup among serving bowls. Sprinkle with chives and remaining spring onions to serve.
